2025 Youth Conservation Symposium: Conservation is M.A.G.I.C.
Join us for the 2025 Youth Conservation Symposium on March 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This full-day symposium invites young leaders aged 13-24 to explore how conservation is transformative, inspiring, and achievable. Through interactive workshops, engaging speakers, and collaborative activities, participants will learn about promoting sustainability, protecting biodiversity, and becoming conservation advocates.

Marta Segura, L.A.’s Chief Heat Officer and Director of Climate Emergency Mobilization, is a global leader in extreme heat, environmental justice, and climate policy. She drives strategic partnerships and equitable climate initiatives to prioritize community health and resilience.

MORNING WORKSHOPS
10:15AM – 12:15PM
MINDFUL CHOICES: CIRCULAR FASHION LA Experience first-hand the end-to-end process of a clothing sort and learn categorization and upcycle methods based on material, size, usability, and conditions for each garment.

ADVOCACY FOR NATURE: THEODORE PAYNE FOUNDATION Learn about native plants and create a toolkit for advocating for native biodiversity in your communities and local areas.

AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS: CLEAN EARTH FUTURE Reimagine climate literacy through the cooperative board game Climate Cooldown and its creator, the founder of Clean Earth Future, a game studio dedicated to environmental

COMMUNITY IMPACT: OUR CHILDREN’S TRUST Participants will have an opportunity to learn from a Genesis v. EPA plaintiff and environmental law firm about concrete steps to protect youth environmental rights.
